Hello! I am honored to be working with all of you this year as the Director of Collegiate Studies. In 1993, I graduated from what was then Gulf Coast Community College with an AA Degree. From there I moved on to FSU-PC and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Communications and Minor in Psychology. For 13 years, I worked in the business world before finally doing what my high school English teachers suggested-teach! In 2008, I completed my teaching certification through the Educator Preparation Institute at Gulf Coast! Within months of finishing all of the paperwork etc., I was teaching at JR Arnold High School. It was truly a whirlwind! I have two kids in the Collegiate Studies program, and I'm so thankful for all the program has provided them. Quinn is a senior this year, and McKenzie is a sophomore. It has been an amazing experience to be at school everyday with them, watching them enjoy the high school experience, and making lifelong memories together! I've taught every grade level of English and even a few World History classes! Most of my time has been in Advanced Placement English Language and Composition. Last year, I was selected by The College Board to be an AP Reader and score exams. In 2015, while still teaching, I started working as a private tutor with Tutor Doctor of the Emerald Coast for the ACT/SAT. I was awarded Tutor of the Year for 2018 for the Southeast Region of the United States. All of this has uniquely prepared me to chart a course for our students. Please reach out to me via email or schedule a meeting if you need anything or just have questions! I love meeting parents and getting to know more about our students!
